Riesling wines are our speciality!
The classic grape variety, fermented to yield a range of wines from Kabinett via Spätlese to Auslese and the even more precious rarities – and also the varieties trocken (dry), halbtrocken (off-dry), lieblich (medium sweet) or edelsüß ("nobly, or ravishingly sweet") – promises an enjoyment of wine of the highest order. Through their mineral content and other constituents these wines reflect the unique terroir (terrain) of the Mosel shale slopes. The strict separation of the individual wine-growing sites leads to a unique variety of high-quality Mosel Riesling wines. In this young grape variety distinctions are made between Riesling classic, Riesling Feinherb (on the dry side) und Riesling Hochgewächs (superior quality made entirely from Riesling grapes) above all as powerful wines presented in Bordeaux bottles with water colour labels. With the exception of the properties specific to individual vintages these wines have every year a comparable taste profile. |

Our Eiswein is a Riesling speciality of a special quality!
Harvested and pressed at temperatures not higher than minus eight degrees Celsius, wines are created with a particularly high concentration and quality and a typical taste profile. This ravishingly sweet speciality wine is just right for many different occasions: as an aperitif, as dessert wine or, for example, for drinking with blue cheese. |

For several years we have also been producing red wine! Several years ago we planted Burgundy and Regent grapes in the best Mosel locations. The late Burgundy produces a soft, velvety red wine and also fruity Weißherbste (rosés). The Regent, a vine that doesn't need to be sprayed, yields full-bodied complex red wines with appealing smoky aromas. By blending them to form cuvées these two types of vine produce an unmistakable red wine in which the features of the individual grape varieties complement each other in an ideal way. |

You can tell a good wine by the number of its competitors!
This is shown by the fact that some of our wines were awarded the silver medal or diplomas at the annual international competition " CERVIM" in Italy for wines from steep slopes. We were just as successful regarding the awards made by the Palatinate, one of the wine producing states of Germany, and in the competition "the best drink of wine". |
